Discover the history, folklore and medicinal properties of plants growing in Kent.
Herb walk given by local practicing Medical Herbalist.

We are surrounded by plants which traditionally were used for a number of purposes, for food, textiles, medicinal uses, as dyes, flavourings etc.

Some of these are still used by modern herbalists as medicines but unfortunately the knowledge that used to pass down from one generation to the next has now been lost. This walk is an opportunity to find out which plants can be made into home remedies and used to treat common ailments.

Common herbs that could be spotted and discussed include elderflower, nettle, plantain, horsetail, comfrey, willow, eyebright, St john's wort, hawthorn, mint etc.

You can bring plants from your garden which the herbalist will identify and give its medicinal properties should it possess some.

Milena will be holding a stall at the Easter Bazaar at Canterbury.
